Happy St. Patrick’s Day: Then and Now

St. Patrick’s Day was a pretty big day for us last year. Charlie had officially been released from her six month quarantine. It was the first time we took her to a public place with other people present.  Here is a picture from last year’s celebration:

St. Patrick's Day

This year, we are snowed in with a foot of freshly fallen snow. Charlie did not let that stop her fun. She decided to celebrate by making a bold fashion choice.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun St. Patrick’s Day.

Funny how we make such strong associations with holidays when it comes to our kids. Last year on Valentines my then 9 day old was hospitalized for two weeks. We were only home for a short time when he became ill again, this time on St Patrick’s day and had to be hospitalized again. This year he had a recurrence (checked out by our dr and treated at home) on Valentines! I was devastated and cried the whole way to work (my hubby is a florist and I couldn’t stay home that day) … so I held my breath yesterday… and we had a grouchy toddler cutting molars…. but that was it! Breath let out and on with our day.
Happy for you that you have lovely memories of St Patrick’s day. 🙂
